Passed by my usual route to work and discovered a sticker I pasted 1.5 years ago, all worn out from the daily beating in the tropical season. Nice to see how things evolve in time and also a reminder that nothing in this life last forever.

LEE JEANS "THE CITY IS MINE"

Sometimes late last year I was approached by the good guys from Streething which runs web-based news that covers daily dosage of urban culture and everything in between to be part of Lee Jeans latest campaign called "The City Is Mine" as featured rider for their latest cycling friendly denims.

Shot and edited by Jules from Streething, the video featured both The Killer Gerbil and the fixed gear culture in Singapore and more. Check it out!

This season, Lee Jeans has expanded their repertoire to include a clothing line geared towards cycling in the city. Dubbed 'Urban Riders', the classic cowboy jeans company moves from horses to bicycles, and with that the focus is on functionality geared towards cyclists rather than the all out ruggedness expected from a pair of denim pants back in the day. The garments feature waterproof zippers, reflective inseams, pockets for mobile phones as well as numerous other touches that move at the pace of the modern day rider.

For their 'The City is Mine' campaign, we caught up with Singaporean visual artist Luthfi Mustafah aka The Killer Gerbil to talk about cycling. While many will know KGB for signature rodent cartoon character, not all who've followed his work throughout the years will know about his interest in fixed gear cycling that started a few years back.

In this video, KGB talks about taking a break from art to work at Lifecycle, a lifestyle bicycle shop. He also talks about his progression in riding preference, as we were all noobs once, so it's nice to hear about that. Then finally, he takes us to his favourite spot to cycle in Singapore. GRAFA TRIP

Of late I've been taking some time off of things enjoying my day to day doing what I love helping running a super chill local cycling and lifestyle boutique Life Cycle which also serves as yet another platform to connect with a wider range of like-minded individuals locally and abroad.

Last weekend we headed up to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a night stay to meet up with some new found friends to catch up and get together. We were greeted by a young and talented designer/filmmaker/photographer Faz Adhili whom brought us around doing that touristy foodie shit before finding ourselves at Grafa, the new cool spot for all that cycling and design needs run by 3 humble creatives and crew.

I of course took the chance to leave some love around the neighborhood and a quick mural for Faz's studio before heading back to the mainland.

A huge thanks to our Malaysian connection (Faz Adhili Creative Lab, Grafa, Wheel Love) for their hospitality, time and wall space. We can't wait for more in the near future!

ADIDAS ALL24

The Killer Gerbil was invited by sports giant adidas Singapore for a graffiti piece alongside local heroes Antz, Clog02 & Zero for adidas all24, an epic 24 hours celebration of style, street and sports event held at *Scape.

Each artists took a 4 hours shift starting from 10pm all the way till the next day at 2pm to complete the collab freestyle piece.

Thank you adidas and all who came for the love and support!

PROJECT SINGA

The Killer Gerbil was invited by Singapore Kindness Movement and Play Imaginative to be part of Project Singa 2010: Kindness In The Lion City, a project aims to bring out considerate social behaviour in Singaporeans through a common language – art where selected local artists worked on custom vinyl blanks of the ever well known Singa The Courtesy Lion mascot.

There were also design competitions for both students and public with prizes includes production of winning entries apart from cash money.

Project Singa showcase is now on from 12th - 15th November happening at Funan DigitaLife Mall so do drop by to check out all the local goodies under one roof.

The Killer Gerbil recently did homie photographer Yasin Rahim aka Mr.36 a favour to create his cartoon caricature for personal branding which he planned to print on stickers.

Today dude just received his fresh sticker pack and I never see him more excited in his life going berserk popping his stick-up cherry all over town.

CAS X KGB X TOS 2010

What up my good people sorry I left this space with the lack of updates. Recently I just quit my day job to seek happiness and was picking up the pieces left behind and shits never get busier than this. My day to day has been filled with schedules of deadlines and meetings but that doesn't stop me from routine rides with my good mates from local outfit Crank Arm Steady who were also responsible behind last year's Tour Of Singapore (150km around Singapore coast line on fixed gear).

Just like any other breakfast ride before work resume, yesterday I decided to feed my random bombing need somewhere long forgotten. With no sketch and leftover cans in hand, I present you this quick clip in tune for this year's Tour Of Singapore which will be happening on 11 December 2010. Video edit by yours truly with awesome tribute track "Crank Arm Stereo" by the good people from TheCrazy88.

BABYBOSS MAG

Indonesia's Babyboss magazine recently just did a 5 spread feature interview on yours truly. The trimonthly publication caters to anything from illustration to experimental art and everything else in between which features local talents and abroad and had been around for abit, the latest being issue 14 with Indonesia's very own Arkiv gracing the cover.

A huge thanks to Godot for the love and opportunity and the effort in translating the interview back in Bahasa!

The Killer Gerbil was approached late last year by the good people from homegrown label Carbon4 to be part of their Carbonated series which is a collaborative effort with local artists and establishments with yours truly as the project's first installment.

The Killer Gerbil Carbonated "C4ARMY" tshirts came in 3 different colours (black and white available for public sales with gray for family and friends only) with front and back graphics complete with flocking and high quality metallic print. Limited to 50 pieces per colourway, each tshirt are numbered so you know we keep it real with them digits with no future reprints.
